about

War is all around us. It is has been waged against us culturally, economically and politically for hundreds of years. This war rages around our heads as we go to work, attend school, laugh with our friends or simply sit in our homes while watching television. For many of us, the din of this war and those whose lives it claims are far too recognizable – we know who they are – we see ourselves within them. For others, this war may appear in our lives as nothing more than the daily tedium that we are forced to undertake in order to survive. This war does not enjoy the simplicity of other conflicts; its lines of battle are constantly shifting and taking on new forms (though some have remained constant). While the topography and language of this war remains in a state of flux – its beneficiaries have remained the same for as long as we can remember. Though the actions of this war are often executed through monolithic and inhuman institutions – the state & capitalism – we must press ourselves to remember that these seemingly unshakeable structures are held up by people who are no less vulnerable than you or I.

Humanity built these tools of subjugation – humanity is capable of returning them to a state of non-existence.

Give the war two sides.

lyrics

When we say fuck the man
what we mean is fuck you mister man
and I know this is cliché to say
so lemme simplify exactly what we mean
we mean we're sick and tired
of our friends being locked up and shipped away...away
all because they refuse
to play your bullshit fucking game
because they don't wanna assimilate
into a culture which perpetuates
violence economically and socially... and physically
because your corporations stole their land and
what once was farms became factories became vacant land
yeah you turned a self sustaining culture into
a consuming one, yeah!
YOU STARTED WAR!
YOU STARTED WAR AND YOU KNOW IT!
YOU STARTED WAR AND YOU KNOW IT!
when we say fuck the man
I hope now you understand
that the culture that exists
lacks the ability to make it right
