when we told him where we were from,

when they shut us in that cell and we looked around that hell
we couldn't help but notice everyone was black
you could tell there was something shady going on in wilkes county georgia

now we made some friends that say we'd be fine
said that white boys round here don't do no time

sure enough, couple weeks later
we were walking outta jail just as free as can be
no charges, no charges for me

while i realize the drug war has victims of every race
you gotta look deeper at the prison system
so you could see the new jim crow vision
as they say stop looking at the wires start looking at the cage
